Celebrating Christianity

'Learning and growing together as we follow Christ'

We are proud of our Christian Value: Compassion, Creation, Forgiveness, Friendship, Service, Trust and strive to practise them in our daily lives. We have worked together to get a true understanding of what they mean in simple terms to us:

Compassion - caring about another person's happiness as if it were your own.
Creation - bringing the world into existence.
Forgiveness - putting the past in the past, learning from it, and moving on.
Friendship – trust, support and kindness between yourself and other people.
Service – to be helpful and considerate of those around us and our world.
Trust – believing that someone/or something is honest and sincere.

We were lucky enough to home the wonderful triptic artwork 'Loving, Hurting, Dreaming'. Pupils received special worship sessions in their classes and created their own interpretations of the themes explored. We shared the work with our church community through a special service in our school.

Creation is the value this term. Our children have been exploring our grounds first hand to experience the wonders of nature. On our explorations we discovered some hidden vegetables in our forest schools area. We harvested these for our shool lunches. Mrs Chell was really pleased with our find.

Pupils save a poor hedgehog who has plastic wrapped around him. This has prompted us to buy two hedgehog homes and adopt two rescue hedgehogs for our grounds.

Outdoor learning enhanced by our outdoor classroom. Pupils in Class 3 wrote emotively using the senses. A wonderful experience reflecting on the beauty of nature and the wonders of our world.

Pupils, families and our local community joined together for our termly Messy Church exploring Harvest, the importance of looking after our world through our Eco-actions and asking what are we thankful for.
We celebrated our value Creation, through Harvest, exploring God's wonderful creation.

A huge thank you for all of the donations for the food bank..

Class 3 planned and delivered a special Remembrance Service to the whole school, parents and community to remember those who served and continue to serve for our country so bravely. Reverend Stephen supported our special service with Holy Communion for all parents and pupils who wished to take part.
In Forest Schools we supported our prickly friends and  sited two new Hedgehog homes. We look forward to adopting two Hedgehogs from our local rescue centre soon. As Creation is our value this term we all feel it is important to look after our local wildlife.

We are thankful to all of our families who have supported us in the Samaritans Purse Shoe Box Appeal this year. We waved goodbye to our boxes today and pray that they bring peace and happiness to children who need it around the globe this Christmas.
