I will stand up for better education and our school

09th May 2018

Some of you may have noticed that I was missing in action last Thursday and Friday from school.

This was because I had been asked to represent schools from Staffordshire and West Midlands as a voting member at the National Headteachers conference in Liverpool from Thursday to Saturday.

It was an absolute privilege to listen to the passion Headteachers have for our future generations and the drive we have to change education for the better.

During the conference I was selected as one of a small group of  Headteachers to challenge the Education Secretary Damian Hinds about current policy. I asked him why increasing pressure on pupils throughout their primary years was a positive change considering the worrying messages about pupil wellbeing.

I also had the opportunity to speak with Shadow Secretary Angela Rayner about the SOS funding action where I shared with her the touching story our our busking Year 4 pupils who really want to support our shrinking small schools budget.

You may or may not be aware of the issues small schools  in particular are facing in the current climate but by supporting other schools around the country I was proud to represent us and will continue to do so in future years.

I just thought you may like to know.

Passionately your Headteacher

Remembrance Service

30th October 2017

We have a special service in school on Friday 10th November at 10.30am with our RAF visitors to mark Remembrance Day. (Everyone Welcome)

All children in school will be learning about why we wear poppies and remember those who have served and still serve for our country. Class 3 will be leading the worship. We would like to invite all friends and families of Tittensor CE(VC) First School to join us in remembering at this service.

Welcome Back!

29th August 2017

As we near the end of the school holiday and we all finalise those last minute organising bits I would like to wish you all a warm welcome back to Tittensor CE(VC) First School and in particular a special welcome to those starting new with us this year.

We have lots to look forward to and your teacher's have been really busy preparing your classrooms ready for Tuesday 5th September. We start the year with a special whole school topic 'Good to be Me' where we will all be celebrating our difference and how important each and every one of us is. I hope you have all had a fantastic break and look forward to seeing your smiley faces on Tuesday.

Best Wishes
